GGBS S105 std
What is GGBS ?
Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag(GGBS) from Fuzhou Golden Fortune Building Material is Cementitious material used to partially replace Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) for various concrete, Masonary, Cement based product manufacturing and other purpose.
GGBS (Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag) is an environmentally friendly product, made from a by-product of iron and steel making. This is a high quality, low CO₂ material,Although not technically a pozzolan, it behaves in the same way as popular pozzolans like PFA (Pulverised Fly/Fuel Ash). It is used as an alternative to PFA to strengthen and accelerate curing of non-hydraulic lime mortars. This material is a very fine white powder, indistinguishable from lime in appearance. Its light colour may make this material a better choice than PFA (Pulverised Fly/Fuel Ash) where a lighter colour or no change in colour is required.

Description
S95 is a coarser grade of GGBFS, providing effective pozzolanic and cementitious properties. It is suitable for a range of concrete applications, contributing to improved strength and durability.
S105 is ultra fine GGBFS, It works best with all kinds of grouting applications. It is made from ultrafine particles with a surface area of over 500m2/kg. It has incredible ability to penetrate even small openings resulting in finest strength and reduced permeability.
Features
- Resistance to Chloride Ion Penetration: Contributes to the resistance of concrete against chloride ion penetration, crucial for marine structures.
- Long-Term Durability: Enhancing the long-term durability of concrete structures, reducing maintenance needs.
- Regulatory Standards Compliance: Adheres to national and international regulatory standards, ensuring its suitability for construction applications.
- Fine Particle Size Distribution: Ensures a uniform particle size distribution, optimizing its reactivity.
- Compatibility with Chemical Admixtures: Compatible with various chemical admixtures, allowing for versatile concrete mix designs.
- Improved workability:GGBS based concrete demonstrate improved workability and finish-ability when compared with 100% ordinary Portland cement concrete system due to its high fineness, as a result,we can get segregation free and cohesive Mix.
- Reduced Heat of Hydration:Due to reduced heat of hydration, plastic shrinkage cracks can be minimized.
- High Compressive and flexural strength:Concrete made with GGBS provides higher compressive and flexural strength compared with Ordinary Portland cement concrete due to additional Calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) formation. Silicates in GGBS combine with the calcium hydroxide (CaOH), a byproduct of hydration and form C-S-H which enhances both compressive and flexural strength. Compared to concrete produced with only OPC, the GGBS blend produced concrete tend to have higher tensile strength and elastic modulus for a given compressive strength.
- Reduced Permeability:The inter connectivity of capillary pores will be discountinued and thus permeability will be reduced.
- Resistance to alkali-silica reaction (ASR): use of GGBS will reduce the potential of ASR occurringby reducing the amount of alkali available in the system that is available for reaction with the aggregate.
- Better particle packing:Concrete made with GGBS has better particle packing due to particle shape and improved hydration
- Excellent resistance to sulphate attack:GGBS does not contain C3A, so its addition in concrete dilutes the total amount of C3A and also reduces the permeability due to which the sulphates do not penetrate into concrete.
- Resistance to chloride attack:Due to reduced permeability and increased densification the diffusion of chloride ions will be greatly minimized in the concrete containing GGBS.
- Lighter in colour:Better Aesthetic appearance and low heat absorption due to its ligh colour.
- Reduced life cycle cost:Concrete produced by using GGBS can significantly improve the durability and extends the life of the structure and thus reduce the lifecycle cost of the structure.
- Fire Resistance:structures made with GGBS based concrete resist the high temperature than the structures made with ordinary Portland
